How to Clean Up Photos with AI

Remove text, overlays, date stamps, and unwanted objects — free, private, right in your browser.

Step 1 — Open Clean Image

Go to the Clean Image tool. The AI model downloads once (~89 MB) and caches in your browser. Future visits load instantly.

Step 2 — Upload Your Image

Drag and drop any PNG, JPG, or WebP image onto the upload zone, or click to browse. The image opens in the workspace with a drawing canvas on top.

Step 3 — Paint Over What to Remove

Use the brush to paint directly over the text, logo, or object you want gone. Adjust brush size with the slider — smaller for precise edges, larger for big areas. On a phone, tap to aim, tap again to paint.

Step 4 — Click Erase

The "Erase with AI" button runs the OpenCV LaMa inpainting model directly in your browser via WebAssembly. Tab may freeze briefly — that's the AI working. Processing takes 1–5 seconds depending on your device.

Step 5 — Download the Result

Toggle between the "Show Original" button to compare before and after. When satisfied, click Download. Your cleaned image saves as a PNG with no watermarks added.

Tips for Best Results

Clean backgrounds work bestThe AI fills removed areas by looking at surrounding pixels. Simple backgrounds produce cleaner results.
Paint slightly beyond the edgeCovering a few extra pixels around the object helps the AI blend edges seamlessly.
Remove one thing at a timeFor complex images, erase objects one by one rather than painting everything at once.
Use undo (Ctrl+Z)If a stroke goes too far, undo and try again with a smaller brush.
